Garden Route Safari

DAY ONE:
Arrival in Cape Town and transfer to your guest house where you will be spending the next few nights.

DAY TWO:
Your rental car will be delivered in the morning and you will have the rest of the day free to explore the sights of Cape Town.

DAY THREE:
Free day in Cape Town – you can spend the day exploring the Cape Peninsula, visit the penguin colony at Boulders Beach or some shopping at the V&A Waterfront.

DAY FOUR:
Today is your last day in Cape Town – for the energetic do a hike up Table Mountain (or  take the Cable-way – its quicker!) otherwise relax on the beach or visit Robben Island.

DAY FIVE:
Today you take the coastal road via Hermanus (recommended for lunch), heading inland to Swellendam where you will spend the night.

DAY SIX:
The road takes you to the Garden Route where you can base yourself either in Knysna which is a quaint lagoon town or Plettenberg Bay if you prefer to be right by the beach.

DAY SEVEN & EIGHT:
You have 2 free days to explore the sights in and around- stroll the beaches, take a walk in the Knysna forest, do some shopping or just relax.  You can visit an elephant sanctuary, Monkeyland and Birds of Eden.

DAY NINE & TEN:
Today you take the road to the Eastern Cape where the nexttwo nights will be spent in a malaria free, big five game reserve.   There are choices of reserves from the Addo region, Lalibela, Kariega or Amakhala- depending on your preference.  Your stay at any of the game lodges includeall meals and 2 daily game drives with experienced game rangers who willshare their knowledge of the bush with you.

DAY ELEVEN:
Traveling inland to the Karoo town of Oudtshoorn and home to the Cango Caves.  Choices of accommodation in Oudtshoorn would be either in the town itself or on a working ostrich farm.

DAY TWELVE:
The journey takes you along the Route 62, traveling past wine farms with lovely country scenery.  Overnight in Montagu area.

DAY THIRTEEN:
Today the road takes you to the Winelands region where you have a wide choice of accommodation in the Stellenbosch, Franschoek, Paarland Wellington areas.

DAY FOURTEEN:
Depending on the time of your flight, we suggest you spend the day exploring the local wine farms – enjoy a lunch at one of the wine estates before heading to the airport for your flight home after a relaxing self-drive holiday.
